2023 Nissan Altima
The Nissan Altima is a sleek, family-friendly sedan with a spacious cabin and the option for all-wheel drive. Nissan also offers it with a choice of four-cylinder engines. For the 2023 model year, the Altima receives new LED headlights, the new Nissan logo, and some new exterior paint options. Also, for 2023, the top trim is now the SL instead of the Platinum, and inside, there's a new 12.3-inch touch-screen for the SL and SR trims. Here's a look at some more details for the 2023 Nissan Altima.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The entry-level S trim comes with 16-inch steel wheels, automatic LED headlights, and power-adjustable side mirrors. Stepping up to the SV adds 17-inch alloy wheels, and the option for a sunroof, while the SR comes with a sport-tuned suspension and 19-inch wheels. Another bump up to the top-level SL adds fog lights, 19-inch wheels, heated side exterior mirrors with integrated turn signals, and a sunroof. The SR VC-Turbo has the same features as the SR.
Engine (Power)
The base engine for the Altima is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder gas engine with 188 horsepower. It uses a continuously variable automatic transmission and comes with front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is available as an option. The SR comes with a 2-liter turbo four-cylinder engine that puts out 236 horsepower. This engine works only with front-wheel drive.
Performance
Drivers and passengers will enjoy riding in the Altima. It stays smooth and quiet over most roads, and the standard engine has plenty of power to propel it up to highway speed. The SR's more powerful engine and sport-tuned suspension make it more entertaining to drive, and it has excellent cornering grip.
Interior
Inside, there's room for up to five people in the Altima, and both rows have comfortable, supportive seats. Cloth upholstery comes standard in the lower trims, which also have a manual-adjustable driver's seat. The SV upgrades to a power-adjustable driver's seat and adds push-button ignition. Choose the top-level SL for leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, heated front seats, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Technology starts with a 5-inch display screen, a six-speaker stereo, Bluetooth, a USB port, and a 12-volt outlet. You'll get an 8-inch touch-screen in the SV, which also adds satellite radio, a USB-C port, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A 12.3-inch touch-screen is optional for the SV, but it comes standard in the SL. This top-level trim also comes with wireless charging, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and integrated navigation.
Safety Features
No matter which 2023 Altima you have, it comes with advanced driver aids to keep you safe. The comprehensive list includes automatic high beam headlights, forward collision warning, automatic braking, a driver attention warning system, lane-departure warning, and a rear seat reminder. A blind-spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert also come standard. The ProPILOT Assist system is optional for the SV. It comes with adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist. Bumping up to the SL adds a traffic sign recognition system, rear automatic braking, and a 360-degree surround-view camera.
